Abstract:
In the year 2004, North-Vest region has a 2.738.461 total population,
meaning 12.63% of Romanian population. From 1990 till 2004, under the
combined influence of differentially level of natural augmentation, growth of
internal migration and external migration intensity, the North-Vest region
population decreased to 239.708 inhabitants. These situation due, in
principal, to the decrease of population from Bihor county (-63.155
inhabitants) and Cluj county (-57.224 inhabitants). From the demographic
point of view, the main factors who act on the population amount and
structure are the birth-rate, the death rate and the migration. Demographic
and economic effects will appear in time and will appeal changes to the
different subpopulation level (school age population, fertile age population
and employable population).
