Educaţia şi productivitatea în agricultură. O perspectivă istorică

Abstract

The paper analyze the evolution of the world agriculture during the last half of the century. Fifty years ago, under the influence of the environmental movement, everybody believed that the rapid multiplication of the populacion will drive, finally, to serious food crisis. The present analysis stands out the fact that the growth of the world population has been accompanied by an important development of the production per capita in all the areas of the agrarian sector. This process can be found both in the countries developed with the United States or those of European Union and in countries with a demographic impressive growth (China, India). The explanation of that paradox comes from the investments in new technologies and specializing education. The increasing quantities of resources for investigations and education made possible a visible advance of the human well-being. The statistical information demonstrates that the world is not threatened by the famines and that there are many reasons of waiting for new improvements in the quality of human life.
