Abstract:
Agro-food chains’ studies represent a concern of modern society. A
larger number of consumers wish to be informed not only about products’
content and preparation way, but also about its origin, the way that it is
obtained, the stages that it went from land to mouth. In this paper it is
estimated the quantitative and qualitative losses that could happen on
tomatoes’ chain and there are given solutions to prevent or to reduce these
losses. Also, there are elaborated and implemented models for profit
maximization on the chain, considering two possible scenarios. In the first
one, which refers to the situation that there are not implemented loses’
methods of prevention, the profit will be lower than in the second one, which
takes into account the methods of prevention.
