| dc.description.abstract | Within the orientation of the community agricultural policy towards a natural, ecological agriculture, where the concept of ecological agriculture has a well defined place, the intensification of the efforts related to the promotion of the ecological agriculture praxis and the information process regarding the role of the ecological technologies is necessary. New agricultural technologies developed and extended over the past three decades have contributed to unprecedented growt in world food production. The sustainable agriculture requires continuing adaptation and change în practices and strategies. If in 2003, 90% of the Romanian ecological production was meant to be exported, a better capitalization on the domestic market (60%) compared to the export (40%) is foreseen for the year 2007. The quantitative objective is to expand the cultivated area to 150,000 hectares în 2007 by means of environmentally friendly methods and the development of a domestic market with ecological products. Due to its 14.8 m hectares and of its unspoiled soils, Romania can promote and develop the ecological agriculture to a great extent. All ecological products present a great importance, because the number of local firms productive of such products is small. So, over the 95% of ecological vegetables and grains from Romania are exported, principally în Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands and Italy. The annual sales on export are by 10-15 millions euro. The development of more appropriate and productive agriculture under diverse and changing circumstances will be more successful to the extent that rural people are actively involved în structuring and managing the process. | en_US |
