Abstract:
Rural development program for Apuseni Mountains region is based by
Loan Accord from International Found for Agricultural Development (FIDA)
and Romania’s Government.
FIDA strategy is to eradicate the rural poverty by increasing the
farmer’s income, by improving the crop, by animals breeding and animal
production, by promoting rural enterprises and trade. FIDA assistance is
oriented to farmers from mountain regions.
Initially the project was created for rural houses from small and pours
communities (40) from Alba County.
Then the program was applied in 121 communities from all the six
counties from Apuseni Mountains. In 2002 year the project was apply in 412
communities.
Until 31 December 2002 has been given 224 credits, in value of
2.287.255 USD, representing 10% from total value of the loan.
At 2003 year level a number of 400 projects have been approved for
Apuseni Mountain region. I have analyzed the evolution of these credits by
counties, From these 400 projects 188 projects has been approved in Alba
County.
The main fields of activity of these projects are agriculture, food
industry, agro-tourism and little industry.
This project has a major benefic effect (2001-2004 period)-the
creation of new work places.
A number of 664 projects have been financed through the
International Found for Agricultural Development (FIDA) to the end of
February 2005. For agro-tourism has been financed 33 projects, for little
industry 77 projects devised in 16 projects for wood transformation, 57 for
services and 4 for arranging spaces.
This program proved that he may be, through his conditions, an
opportunity for economical development of Apuseni Mountains region.
