dc.description.abstract The The development of agriculture needs the support of that production factor which is considered by the economic theory as the most important on, namely the work force. The employed population is the most important part of the active population. It is the effective producer of goods and services needed for the existence and functioning of the entire society. Employment measures of the offer of the work force on specific markets. It is influenced by the evolution of economic phenomena and processes from the production field, but also by the complexity of [the] demographic evolution. The regional analysis of the structure of employment emphasizes the existence of disparities. Multiple comparisons are used to determine which regions differ regarding the employed population in agriculture. The lowest value of young employed population (15-24 years old) in agriculture is in the Western Region and the highest value, in the Central Region. There are, also, important differences in the old employed population in agriculture (over 65 years): in the the Western and Central Regions the value of this indicator is lower than 10% while in the South Region, this indicator is over 18%. The ANOVA analysis indicates that there are differences among regions in terms of employed population in agriculture. We can state that at least one region differs from another from this point of view. The results indicate that there are differences between the North Eastern Region and Central Region and between the North Eastern Region and the Bucharest Ilfov Region. These three regions have an aged population, in other words the percent of older population is over 12%. There are differences among the three regions concerning the economic dependency ratio and the ageing index. Also, in the North Eastern Region the value of young population was 18,3%, in the Central Region and Bucharest-Ilfov Region was recorded as 15,7%, 11,7% respectively young population. en_US
