Abstract:
Erosion and sedimentation have been recognised as a major 
environmental threat within  the Tutova Rolling Hills. The heavy rainfalls 
that occured during September 05, 2007 within both the southern part of the 
Moldavian Plateau and the north-eastern part of the Romanian Plain 
ammounted up to 237.7 mm in the town of Podu Turcului. These severe 
rainfalls resulted in a significant hidrologic reaction and a variable erosion 
reaction. Field data collected mostly in small catchments, each usually under 
500 ha in size, are emphasizing the associated impact on the local 
environment. In addition, the human activity has sometimes decisively 
contributed in diferentiating that impact.
