Abstract:
This retrospective, observational, descriptive study includes two large dog breeds, the Caucasian Shepherd breed and
the Saint Bernard breed belonging to a kennel in Romania, and was carried out for three consecutive years, to improve
breeding practices and obtain canine specimens according to the international FCI recognized standards. The fertility,
fecundity and prolificacy, stillbirth, survival at 28 days, the average daily gain and weekly growth rate were recorded
and compared.
